Update Time:2022-06-01 16:14:11

Developed by Netmarble, Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds is a popular MMORPG game, which is released on May 25, 2022. When you start your journey in Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, you will choose your character and summon your familiars.

What are familiars in Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds?

Familiars are one of the gacha-related features in the Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds. These wonderful little creatures are just like pets, which can be equipped to aid you in battle. In Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, players can choose from various familiars to assist them on their journey. And all of the familiars would have different elements and unique skills. Each player can equip up to a maximum of 3 familiars at a time. However, you have to start with only one familiar and unlock others as you level up.

In Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, familiars have different elements, just like weapons. There are five elements that can be attributed to familiars: Darkness, Light, Fire, Wood, and Water. The fire element will act against the wood, and the wood will act against the water. Meanwhile, the water element will be the opposite of the fire, and the light can go against the darkness.

So when players adjust their familiar's list, they should keep in mind this elemental interaction.

How to earn familiars

As these little creatures are very helpful for players, how to earn familiars might be a little question for new players. Thus, here are some ways for you to earn familiars:

Summon: You can summon familiars via the "Summon" page on the shop menu. To summon familiars, you have to use the diamonds or familiars summon coupons, both of which you would get naturally through gameplay. Currently, there are three different rarities of familiars when you summon.
4 Stars Familiars – 4% Rate to be summoned
3 Stars Familiars – 36% Rate to be summoned
2 Stars Familiars – 60% Rate to be summoned
Tips: For the first time, you will receive a free summon chance to get ten familiars, which you can reroll up to ten times to try and change the familiars you receive. And every time, when you summon a familiar, you will earn loyalty points, which will slowly add up until you get a 4-star familiar at 100 points and a rare 4-star familiar at 200 points.

Tame: As you level up and unlock the main storyline, you will be introduced to the concept of taming familiars. To tame a familiar, you need to prepare the taming biscuits, and then you need to find a Brighterfly in the world. After finding Brighterflies, you can feed them with biscuits and try to tame the familiars that appear.
Tips: Players can obtain the biscuit by completing various content or purchasing via the shop. The Brighterflies are glowing blue insects with pale blue butterflies that can be seen flying around as well. When you are close enough to a Brighterfly, a hand icon will appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Hatch: When players progress through the storyline, they can unlock the feature of hatching familiars. At one time, you can hatch a maximum of three familiar eggs. To hatch familiars, you will need Familiar Eggs and Dream Shards. Normally, it’ll take two hours for a familiar egg to hatch, but you can speed up by using Sand of Time.

Purchase: Players can also purchase familiars in the store.

Story: Players can also receive familiars by processing through the game story.

How to train familiars

After obtaining your favourite familiars, you can train your familiars to strengthen your character’s stats. Here are the methods you can improve your familiars.

Level up: Leveling up is a common way to train familiars. Players can level up familiars by using Beans or other familiars in Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds. By the way, the maximum level for a familiar is level 30.
Evolve: Once your familiars reach the max level, you can increase their grades by evolving. Evolving familiars can increase their base stats, but their level would be rest to level one.
Enhance: Enhancing is another way to increase your familiar’s base stats. To enhance a familiar, you need the jelly to increase the familiar’s attack, defence, and HP.
En. Absorb: En. Absorb is an option that players can absorb a familiar’s stat enhancement level and then transfer it to other familiars. However, the material familiar that has been taken the enhancement will disappear when the enhance absorbing is complete.
Awaken: You can awaken your familiars by using a duplicate familiar of the same kind as awakening material. Awakening familiar can reach up to tier ten Awakening Level.
