Venusaur Ex

Venusaur Ex is one of the perfect cards that makes healing a breeze, and with this strategy, you can even improve at a faster rate in the game. While its final attack might not be the best in class, with Giant Bloom, you can heal much more efficiently and effectively.

Alakazam

Just like Mewtwo, it has a good Psychic attack that scales up with each Energy attached to the defending Pokemon. To make it interesting, when we pair Alakazam with Giovanni's support, you can take down even the strongest Pokemon like Starmie Ex and Venusaur Ex because the overall stats just improve to the next level.

All in all, Alakazam is quite a budget-friendly player that can take you from zero to hero in one go. Lastly, Alakazam will pair with other 1-point Pokemon in the budget-friendly shells.

Blastoise Ex

Blastoise Ex is another amazing character, even though it might not be the strongest or the flashiest Pokemon in the game. It is a solid card in meta due to its attacks that scale really well. To make things even better, it uses surf for two energy sources, which deals with a damage of 40, but that's not the key highlight of what it is capable of.

Then we have Hydro Boost, which takes three energy sources and causes 100 damage. This is a good place to be since now we're talking about the attack. However, things escalated more than the talk about Hydro Bazooka, which takes five energy but deals with a great 160 damage.

Interestingly enough, this attack is enough to one-shot most of the characters in the game.

C-Tier

Melmetal

Lastly, we have Melmetal who is also the current boss of a small pool of the Pokemon of his type. This is due to his bulk which grants him 130HP and a powerful attack. One of the standout attacks is Hard Coat which reduces the enemy's attack damage by 20 and also increases its endurance to around 150HP.
